So iconic are the deaths in Game of Thrones, in fact, many fans were disappointed that more people didn’t die in episode three, The Long Night.īut after episode five, The Bells, perhaps we should have been more grateful that the Grim Reaper has been looking the other way. Valar morghulis and all that, and in many ways the deaths are the best part of the show – what would the show be without Ned Stark’s surprise execution, Joffrey choking to death on his own throat or the Red Wedding, after all? If there’s one thing we knew going into the final season of Game of Thrones, it was that a lot of people were going to die.
